Selling a Trucking LLC That Holds a Relay Account

If your trucking LLC already hauls on Amazon Relay, the sale works like any other company sale: the LLC itself changes hands. FMCSA's March 2026 bulletin says that when a company is sold, “the USDOT Number goes with the company.” The steps for carriers with a Relay account are on selling a carrier with a Relay account. What a Relay account changes

A company that is already on Relay has been through Amazon's onboarding. That settles a question a company without Relay still has open: whether Amazon would accept it. The account pages also show how the company has been hauling, so there is less to estimate.

What still gets checked

• That the Relay account is active, from screenshots you take of the account pages
• That the operating authority is active on the FMCSA record
• The company's inspection and crash history on the FMCSA record
• That the LLC is in good standing with its state

We never ask for logins, passwords, codes or card or bank numbers by text or email.

The public Relay pages we read do not say what happens to a Relay account when the company that holds it is sold. That is set by the carrier agreement your company accepted. Read your agreement, and ask the closing attorney about your case.

What transfers at closing
